Josko Gvardiol signs contract extension with RB Leipzig
Chelsea defensive target Josko Gvardiol who attracted interest from the Blues has made it clear that he had no intentions to leave the German Bundesliga.
Chelsea were strongly linked with the Croatian defender and we’re prepared to make a bid of €90 million for his signature.
A deal for the 20-year-old defender didn’t go through as the defender signed a contract extension with RB Leipzig. He is set to stay with the club until 2027.
Gvardiol said: “I really enjoy being here and I wanted to stay here. We have a lot of work to do and a lot to achieve here. We have a good team and we’re ready.
“We’re in the Champions League and won the DFB-Pokal last season. We want to compete for trophies once again.
“I’m grateful to the club for counting on me and planning with me long-term.”
