Brittany Mahomes blames NFL referee for manipulating the game between Chiefs and Bills
Mrs. Mahomes is simply restating her husband’s remarks made in public following their loss. On Sunday, Brittany Mahomes used her Arrowhead Stadium suite to record a referee. She then posted the video to Instagram Stories with the caption “MVP.” In essence, she is charging a member of the NFL officials with manipulating the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills game.
Mrs. Mahomes is simply repeating what her husband, quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs, and head coach Andy Reid said in public following their team’s second straight defeat.
With fewer than two minutes remaining in the Week 14 match, Kansas City’s potentially game-winning touchdown was called back due to an offensive offsides call.
The fact that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce caught a ball from Mahomes and then gave a 20-yard lateral to wide receiver Kedarius Toney, who ran it in for the score, added even more excitement to the play.
At the line of scrimmage, Toney, on the other hand, just put one toe past the football and failed to check to make sure he was aligned correctly with the official.
Kedarius Toney is to blame, not the officials
Chiefs lead the league in dropped passes, and the pace was set by Toney in a Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions, where he failed to catch a handful of throws. He also had a couple more drops against the Bills, but his lack of attention at the line of scrimmage is the reason why Chiefs lost and Kelce won’t get that highlight.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Skyy Moore have also had key drops in previous games this season that could have given the Chiefs a couple more wins. Blaming the referees, whether it be Brittany, Patrick or Coach Reid, seems to be out of frustration because they’ve never been in this position during the Mahomes era.
