Robert Lewandowski opens up on his childhood dream of playing in Spain

After a successful first season with FC Barcelona, Robert Lewandowski has opened up on why he joined the Spanish La Liga.

The Polish forward who joined FC Barcelona from Bayern Munich believes that he has more to give to football and he sees age to be just a number.

Robert Lewandowski: “I think I can play for many more years. Age is just a number.”

“Leaving Bayern? Well, I wanted to change my lifestyle, the country, the language, to meet new people… I always dreamed of playing in Spain and it was the right time. At my age, I was convinced that I had to take a step forward.”

“Barça’s youngsters don’t speak English and I need to improve my Spanish. But it doesn’t matter, because we communicate in another language, the language of football.”

“We have enormous potential at Barça. My first season was good, but I know we can do better. Especially in the Champions League.”

“A few years ago I realized that the best therapy was to talk to someone. It allows me to understand what is happening to me. Sometimes you just need to externalize it.”

“In the morning, the first thing I think about is getting my daughters up and getting them ready for school.”

“In Barcelona I have discovered a new way of living. The smile of my daughters accompanies me until training.”
