Solar Ayew, Ayew’s uncle, believes that in a fair world, Jordan Ayew would have been a lock for the Black Stars captaincy.
Jordan Ayew, he believes, should succeed his senior brother Andre as captain of the national team if it weren’t for the pranks of some Ghanaians.
“The next in line for Black Stars captain should have been Jordan Ayew but the way we Ghanaians do our things that’s why Jordan is not the captain of the stars,” he told Ezra FM, as quoted by Sportsworld Ghana.
Solar also stated that no one can make his nephew Andre Ayew leave the Black Stars.

According to him, the Nottingham Forest forward would only leave the national team when the moment is right for him.
“He [Andre Ayew] will consider retirement at the appropriate time,” Solar told Ezra FM.
He was replying to Emmanuel Osei Kuffour’s plea for Ayew to be pulled from the national team to create room for younger players.
According to Osei Kuffour, Ayew has completed his race with the national time and must now take a back seat to allow other players to shine.
However, the former Hearts of Oak player was keen to point out that Andre’s younger brother, Jordan Ayew, still has a lot to give the Black Stars.
In response, Solar slammed the former footballer, claiming that his nephew has accomplished more than he [Osei Kuffour] ever did in his career.
“Who is General Osei Kuffour to talk about Dede Ayew, someone who has achieved than you. I thought it was Samuel Osei Kuffour (Bayern) who was saying that,” he said.
“The next in line for Blackstars captain should have been Jordan Ayew but the way we Ghanaians do our things thats why Jordan is not the captain of the stars.”
Andre Ayew is currently Ghana’s most-capped player, having made 113 appearances for the Black Stars and scored 24 goals.
