Thiago Messi Makes His Debut For Inter Miami

The son of Lionel Messi, Thiago Messi has finally made his debut as an Inter Miami Academy player. Lionel Messi’s remarkable career is coming to an end, but the Messi name may live on in the form of his first son, Thiago, who is just starting out in football.

Messi joined Inter Miami in July after finishing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, putting an end to weeks of speculation regarding his future.

He assisted the club, which was statistically the weakest in MLS, in becoming one of the greatest in North America and winning the first Leagues Cup.

His influence on the pitch has also helped the team to move within six points off the playoff places with eight games to go, while also booking a spot in the US Open Cup final against Houston Dynamo on September 27.

Thiago Messi joined the club’s academy’s U-12 level three weeks ago in preparation for the upcoming season and has been training with his teammates.

Messi’s 10-year-old son is not the first to do so. David Beckham’s son Romeo was previously enrolled there, as is former manager Phil Neville’s kid.

As spotted in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Inter Miami Academy, the team beat Weston FC 2-0 on Thiago’s first outing, and he was spotted celebrating with his teammates.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s other sons, Mateo, 8 and Ciro, 5, have also been spotted enjoying kickabouts on the pitch before and after their father’s games.
